Rebuilding is a doddle!

What we Like about the Blaze Solo RTA

The Blaze Solo RTA is our favourite among the range for various reasons. It’s easy to build on due to it’s spacious deck, has great airflow coming from the top of the tank for leak-resistance, it’s single-coil build deck makes it a bit simpler than dual coil setups and did we mention it produces incredible flavour? The flavour potential is dependant on the coil you install but it’s the best we’ve tried yet when using a Vapour Wild Alien Coil.

The only trouble with a tank like this is the fact that it’s rebuildable. Not many people in 2023/2024 want to delve into the world of rebuildable vapes so it’s probably not going to appeal the masses. If you’re on the fence about it though – let this review persuade you. It’s most definitely worth it.

This tank nails the flavour game and has some great features that made using it such a good experience. It’s not prone to overheating due to the single coil build-deck, has fully adjustable airflow, doesn’t leak and isn’t too expensive.

Huge range of vaping styles

What we Like about the Voopoo UForce-L

the UForce-L is a flavour chaser designed by Voopoo, and it does an exceptional job considering it uses PNP Coils. We think the design quality is up there with some of the best. Featuring 3 airflow holes for a super smooth draw, it allows great vapour production and wicking is no issue so the coils stay saturated, eliminating dry hits. Remember to choose your coils wisely as they will affect the style of vaping you’re going to have to stick to. For example, a PNP TR1 coil is designed for MTL vaping between 10 & 15W. Trying to push 50 watts through it isn’t going to work.

The UForce-L vape tank is an affordable multi use tank with a 510 connection and can be used on any compatible device, making it an extremely versatile vape tank suited for vapers from all backgrounds whether beginners or advanced.

Exceptional engineering

What we Like about the Vapefly Kriemhild 2

Vapefly have patented the technology employed in their Duplex series coils which they claim allows it to heat up near-instantly allowing for a quicker hit and less waiting as the coils reaches optimum temperature. If you’ve been vaping for a number of years, especially with more advanced kits then you’ll know this is can be a nuisance.

The Duplex coil by Vapefly is widely regarded as one of the very best stock coils out there and we feel this is well justified. Even at lower wattage the flavour production is exceptional and the inhale is cool. A cooler inhale seems to be the most popular, especially if disposables are anything to go by, so this is another win in our books. We did notice that the coil seems to struggle at higher power as it’s liquid absorption is perhaps lacking vs various other brands, but then again we’re not serious cloud chasers so we don’t vape at high power.

The Kriemhild 2 is a sub-ohm tank compatible with Duplex coils which push fit into the chamber easily and quickly.

Geekvape’s standard reliability

What we Like about the Geekvape Zeus

The Geekvape Zeus Tank is perhaps one of the most reliable tanks in this list – it just goes and goes. This is pretty typical of Geekvape’s products and it’s a tank that can be used for a very long time without ever wanting to “upgrade”.

Geekvape really nailed the leak resistance with their Zeus series Sub-Ohm and RTA atomisers and it’s become something of a standard for all vape tanks these days. Any tank not able to claim leak-resistance immediately loses out on potential sales. No one likes oily hands and pockets!

The Z series coils by Geekvape are excellent and provide great flavour & vapour production. Their mesh structure allows for a super-smooth draw with good exceptional absorption, so you can pretty much forget about dry hits!

Leak Proof

Top-Airflow makes it leakproof

What we Like about the Smok T-Air Subtank

The T-Air Subtank by Smok is the smallest in the list, so if you’re after a compact setup with great flavour capability, this might just be up your street. It’s a sub-ohm tank compatible with Smok’s TA mesh coils and features a honeycomb top airflow ring which is supposed to create a smoother draw, though we’re not too sure about this claim.

The draw on this little tank is slightly on the warmer side due to it’s size, but it’s still a great little tank and it managed to find it’s way onto this list. As with all other tanks in this list save for the Blaze Solo RTA, the coils push fit straight into the body so changing coils is simple. Remember to close the airflow ring when you do this to prevent liquid leaking out though.

With great flavour, a range of coils to choose from, leak-proof top-to bottom airflow and it’s compact size, the T-Air Subtank is a fantastic choice for anyone looking for flavour from the vape kit.

Innovative Coil-Change Feature

Change coils without losing liquid

What we Like about the Aspire Nautilus 3

Aspire have a reputation for producing consistently excellent products and the Nautilus 3 is no exception. It accepts the wide range of coils in the Nautilus series to produce a brilliant vaping experience in terms of both flavour and vapour production. It’s quality construction is very typical of Aspire and even incorporates some rather awesome technology that negates loss of liquid when changing coils. It’s an impressive feature that works well – but we’re not sure it’s really necessary. After all, if you do it right you shouldn’t be losing any E-Liquid besides what’s already on the coil. But it at least demonstrates a flair for innovation on Aspire’s behalf.

The meat-and-two veg of this tank is it’s flavour production – it’s worthy of being in this list and we’re starting to think that stock coils are fast becoming the way to go for flavour. I know, some of you might scoff at this comment – and perhaps you’re right, but rebuildables can’t compare in terms of convenience. The Nautilus 3 does flavour just right with a good draw that isn’t too hot.

Overall it’s a tank I’ve had a lot of use out of but is ultimately shelved in favour of my Blaze Solo RTA in my pursuit of flavour.

Conclusion

For a long while there I never thought I’d never go back to rebuildable’s after a hiatus with more convenient plug & play style tanks, but there’s actually something about installing your own coil I’ll never get over. Whilst plug and play style sub ohm tanks have the lions share of the market, rebuildables will always have a good following as some people prefer the freedom to build their own vape (almost literally) and don’t want to spend ~£10 on a pack of coils that may only last a month. Love dessert flavours? Be prepared to shell out for more coils on the regular.

The tanks in this list have been vaped for a good amount of time and have made their place on the list ultimately because of their flavour production. You may notice the overall score of each is a little confusing, so if it’s flavour you’re after, pay attention to that particular stat above all else.

Not sold on rebuildables? You don’t have to even know how to build your own coils to use an RTA like the Blaze Solo. Pre-wrapped coils are available like our range by Vapour Wild – all you have to do is drop them into the post holes, tighten down and insert your wick, then add liquid and have a go. Yes, it may take a few attempts to get it right, but one you do we’re confident you’ll be hooked.
